Grant of a tenement and adjacent garden at ‘Shynglidewell’ in the parish of ‘Yield’ (Ifield, Kent): adjoining the chapel of Mary in ‘Shynglidewell’ and land of Henry Wyche east, land of John Crower west and south, and the king’s highway north.
Also an acre and three virgates of land in the same parish in ‘Westfeld’ at ‘Millehill’, adjoining land of John Crower east, land of John Kelsham west, land of Robert Byston north and the king’s kighway south.
Witnesses: John Smith, Gilbert Wyngolde, John Crower, John Croft and John Barr.
Dated: 1 April 1424, Latin, Seal tag (seal lost), cut from a contemporary deed.
Endorsed (16th c.?) ‘The evidens of chappell have & the greene’
Ifield: just south of Gravesend. By the mid 20th century it can be found on maps as Singlewell or Ifield, and now know as Singlewell.
