91 leaves (last 49 blank), single column of approximately 16 lines in a loose Italic hand, outline of arms (without being filled in) on first leaf, title added by contemporary hand on all three fore-edges (with date of 1609 there), spots and stains, bumps to edges of leaves, else good condition, 178 by 135mm.; contemporary limp parchment binding, with loss of one corner and top of back board to rodent damage, cockled , else solid in binding These verses were not copied from a printed text, and are perhaps in the author’s own hand. They address a wide variety of subjects, including the supporters of Julius Caesar, Christ and St. Agatha, and the indulgence of pleasure, as well as number of the poet’s contemporaries.
