A single leaf from a Book of Hours, in Latin, on vellum.  Full-page painting of the Pentecost, with the Virgin and the Apostles kneeling in an interior, the Holy Ghost entering through a window, above 6 lines of text, written in brown ink in a gothic liturgical hand, with line-fillers and 2 one-line initials in burnished gold on pink and blue grounds with fine white-line tracery, a 4-line initial in blue with white-line tracery on a burnished gold background, all in a full border of acanthus, red and blue flowers and black hair-line sprays on a liquid gold ground. Size: 5 7/8 x 4 3/8 inches
